Expectations
This handout provides guidelines or expectations for your players and parents, basically on how to behave on the field and in the stands. I believe it is important for my team to be respected and perceived as good sports. If this is to happen it is helpful to communicate those expectations to members of the team.
EXPECTATIONS FOR
SPORTSMANSHIP AND BEHAVIOR
FOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS
Stay quiet during the games except for saying positive things to and about our team.
Comments and cheers should be positive and not aimed at an individual.
Pressure should not be put on your child, or anyone else's.
Do not criticize your child during a game.
There may be key words or phrases I would like passed on to help the players concentrate on fundamentals. If so, I will give them to the parents to use at games.
Respect the officials and our opponents.
Do not criticize the officials.
Everyone should give a strong, positive cheer for the other team at the conclusion of a game.
